Want to Spend a Day on the Farm?

We get asked a lot if we accept volunteers—and the answer is yes! We love welcoming folks who want to spend a day (or half-day) outside, get their hands dirty, and learn more about how vegetables are grown. If you have a lot of questions and want to ask in person, this is the best way to do it!

Volunteering at Gathering Springs Farm is a great way to enjoy fresh air, move your body, and get a behind-the-scenes look at a working farm. Tasks vary by season and may include planting, harvesting, bed prep, or moving tarps—sometimes mellow, sometimes a solid workout. We’re always happy to share what we’re doing and why (just know we tend to talk while moving!).

Things to Know Before You Come

  • Work is outdoors and weather-dependent—dress for the forecast and wear clothes and closed-toe shoes that can get dirty

  • Bring gardening gloves if you have them

  • There are very friendly farm dogs who may jump and will definitely offer kisses

  • We don’t work outside in storms or drenching rain, but we may switch to indoor tasks—so don’t assume inclement weather means cancellation

Scheduling

  • Scheduled volunteer days are the 1st Friday of each month; we can accommodate other Fridays if that doesn’t fit

  • Currently we can’t use volunteer help on the weekends - we are either at market or taking a break!
